Official: Barcelona squad and Possible Lineups against Rayo Vallecano – La Liga opener

Barcelona are back in business as they take on Rayo Vallecano for La Liga’s season opener tonight. Xavi has picked the official squad list for the encounter, featuring 23 players.

Sergino Dest is not included in the squad. Doubts arose over his future, with reports linking him to Manchester United. Furthermore, Gerard Romero claimed yesterday that Barcelona are soon to sell players ‘with an average salary’.

Robert Lewandowski, Andreas Christensen, Franck Kessie and Raphinha have been registered and feature in the squad list. Ousmane Dembele does as well, but Jules Kounde is missing. The Frenchman is still dealing with his condition and will be registered for the next match.

Samuel Umtiti and Martin Braithwaite have been asked to leave the club and are therefore unlikely to play for the Catalans. They are not even part of the team list for today’s match.

From the youth team, Alejandro Balde, Inaki Pena, Gavi and Arnau Tenas are the first official squad list for the season.

Goalkeepers: ter Stegen, Pena, Tenas

Midfielders: Busquets, Pedri, Pjanic, Kessie, de Jong, Gavi
