Barcelona vice president confirms Jules Kounde will be available for Real Sociedad clash

Barcelona vice-president Rafael Yuste has revealed that new signing Jules Kounde wanted to play in the opening La Liga game against Rayo Vallecano but the club has convinced the defender that they will do everything in their power to make sure he is on the field next weekend.

“Kounde wanted to play today [against Vallecano], but we explained the situation to him and told him we would do everything in our power to make him play next weekend,” the vice-president told BarçaTV+.

In the end, Barcelona fell to a goalless draw against Rayo Vallecano, but after activating the fourth financial lever, Barcelona could register six of the seven inclusions, which included new signings Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski, Franck Kessie, Andreas Christensen and old players such as Ousmane Dembele and Sergi Roberto.

A certain Jules Kounde was left out mainly because, despite the activation of the fourth lever, Barcelona still have a preliminary amount of between 20-30 million euros to reach the full balance.

And now that they have activated all the levers, the big question remains how they will continue the Kounde operation.

For that, Barcelona only have two avenues to explore. First, approve big sales like Frenkie de Jong, Memphis Depay and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

In this way, Mundo Deportivo says that the team cannot present the income from the sale, because it will be more like an amortization of costs. The second way is to reduce the existing volume of wages, which turns out to be a serious problem for the management.

For this, it is believed that the team could ask experienced players such as Gerard Pique and Sergio Busquets to further reduce their wages.

Once that is done, Barcelona can focus not only on signing Kounde, but also work on new signings such as Marcos Alonso and Bernardo Silva.

Meanwhile, it should be noted that the registration of the aforementioned players is a huge relief for the team as they have not only entered the domestic competitions but also the continental championship, the UEFA Champions League.
