Leeds United are facing a bidding war in the pursuit of their star man Raphinha this summer. While the forward was majorly a target for Barcelona this summer, Chelsea have recently joined the race.
The Blues even made an attractive promise to the Yorkshire giants, who reportedly cost about 70 million euros. Leeds United have also received a donation from Barcelona, who are willing to pay an estimated € 60 million to the attacker.
According to Raisa Simplicio, Chelsea are now pressuring Leeds United to make a decision. They know and feel threatened by Barcelona’s interest in the player.
Therefore, they have given Leeds a conclusion, urging Premier League uniforms to make a decision. Leeds are expected to accept a top offer, from Chelsea at the moment.
The whites have asked Barcelona to make a better contribution. The Catalans have promised the same, although their current gift should see them pay 50 million euros in three installments. It is unlikely that the club will be able to pay more than € 30 million in advance for the attacker this summer.
It gives Chelsea an automatic advantage in pursuit. But the Blues are not backed by Raphinha, who is set to travel to Barcelona. His agent Deco even agreed to personal terms with the Catalans in March.
Raphinha’s desire to join Barça has seen them stop on their way to Stamford Bridge. It has led to Chelsea also urging the player to make a decision. If both the player and the team fail to respond in time, the Blues are likely to give up their pursuit and move on to other goals.
