FC Barcelona manager Xavi spoke directly to Robert Lewandowski about a possible transfer this summer, according to a new report.
The Polish striker has made it clear that he is ready to experience the new culture of football, and it is understandable that he wants to leave this summer and not next year.
Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are said to be in the running for Bayern Munich defender, but Barcelona are leading the way.
In fact, the report states that Leewandowski’s priority is Barcelona, not another club. Bayern have stated they want the striker to complete his contract, which means Barcelona will have to convince him to let him pay the rest of the year. Whether they can negotiate a mutually agreeable agreement remains to be seen.
Lewandowski has been lured into the idea of playing for Barcelona because of the club culture and the league environment. In addition, he has been in direct contact with Xavi at least twice. The manager reportedly told Lewandowski that the club was looking for him, so it looks like the attraction goes hand in hand.
However, Barcelona are likely to sell players before signing a Lewowsowski-level player when it comes to transfer fees and salaries.
