Riqui Puig has been linked with a move to Celta. This is according to Diario Sport, which reports that Xavi Hernandez has no place for the Catalan in his squad for Barcelona next season. Puig has only played 525 minutes this year.
Celta will lose Denis Suarez this summer and intends to replace Puig. Puig, whose contract with Barcelona lasts until the summer of 2023, is said to love Celta coach Eduardo Coudet and is open to the idea of joining a Galician club.
Barcelona are looking at a € 5m bid for Puig. Puig, 22, spent most of his career at Camp Nou passing through La Masia. He failed to prove himself as a first team, however, and young players like Gavi, Nico Gonzalez and Pedri all found him in an organized way.
Moving to a team like Celta makes sense to him.
